Welcome to
Urban trailblazer cic
About
us
Born during the pandemic, Urban Trailblazer CIC started as a response to food poverty and isolation. We focus on helping marginalised groups including carers, NHS staff, young adults, and older people. From balconies to community parks, our work turns concrete into connection.
We don’t just grow plants — we grow confidence, skills, and support.
Run by our founder Alexa and a small team of passionate volunteers, we’re proudly grassroots, creative, and community-first.

Since 2021
Our History
How it all started
Our story goes back Urban Trailblazer CIC began in 2021 at the height of the pandemic. It started with small acts — Growing on the front doors, balconies offering companionship and gardening. what began as a community lifeline evolved into a growing social enterprise, rooted in kindness, creativity, and action.
Our early projects focused on:
Balcony planting for shielding elders
Free herb kits and sow-at-home seed packs
Conversations through windows and doorsteps
As demand grew, so did our impact. We began to:
Run My Front Door, helping people plant and decorate their outdoor space
Offer free gardening workshops for families and carers
Launch AQA-accredited learning for young adults and vulnerable groups
In 2024, we received key funding from Groundwork and the National Lottery to expand our AQA programme and wellbeing walks. Now, in 2025, we’ve delivered two major Lampton Park projects, supported NHS carers, and planted the seeds of change in hundreds of homes and hearts.
